| Como su nombre lo implica, esta especie habita cerca de los arrecifes, particularmente en las profundidades del lado del mar abierto. Los ataques a humanos son poco frecuentes, pero si ocurren- particularmente cuando el tiburón se siente amenazado, por ejemplo cuando se siente acorralado por un grupo de buzos. Las señales de que un ataque es inminente incluyen movimientos exagerados de la cabeza, mayor frecuencia de movimientos repentinos y erizar la espalda. |
| As its name implies, this species is most often found near reefs, particularly among drop offs on the outer side of the reef. Attacks on humans are infrequent, but do occur- particularly when the shark feels threatened, such as when a group of divers may inadvertently corner it against the reef. Signs that an attack may be imminent include exaggerated swinging of the head, increased frequency of sudden movements, and arching the back. |
