| Existen más de 80 especies de peces sapo a nivel mundial. Se les encuentra en pequeñas cuevas y “cantan” para atraer pareja. Los machos cuidan del nido y de las crías varias semanas después de nacidas. El Sapo Magnífico es la especie más colorida del Caribe y se le encuentra únicamente en los arrecifes de Cozumel. Se alimenta de gusanos, caracoles y pequeños peces. |
| There are over 80 species of toadfish worldwide. They are most often seen in small crevices, and are known to “sing” to attact a mate. Males care for the nest, and continue to protect their young for several weeks after hatching. The Splendid Toadfish, also known as the Coral Toadfish, is the most colorful of Caribbean species and is found only in the reefs around Cozumel island. It feeds on worms, snails, and small fishes. |
