| Este árbol playero puede llegar a medir hasta 8 metros de altura. Lamentablemente rara vez se ven de este tamaño debido a que se les poda regularmente. Crea excelente sombra y rompe muy bien el viento, pero tristemente se le tala frecuentemente – junto con todo lo demás- cuando se construye en la playa. Quizá si los propietarios supieran que estabilizan la playa, previenen la erosión y atraen aves, serian más cautos con esta especie. Tiene grandes hojas amplias y da frutos que parecen uvas. |
| This beach tree can get to be 8 meters tall, unfortunately most are much smaller due to regular pruning. They make excellent shade trees, and wind-breakers, but sadly they tend to be cleared from beaches- along with everything else- whenever construction occurs. Perhaps if owners were aware that it helps stabilize the beach, prevents erosion and attracts birds, they would be more careful. Sea grape trees have large broad leaves and a grape-like fruit. |
