| Las flores de este arbol no solo son hermosas, sino que huelen muy bien. De hecho su nombre se debe a la palabra Guaraní jacarandá, que significa “fragante”. Florean en tal abundancia que a veces uno puede observar caer una flor cada dos o tres segundos en una lluvia constante de flores agotadas que cubren el piso. Sus flores, hojas y corteza tienen propiedades antitumorales y antibióticas, y es remedio tradicional para la amibiosis disenterica. Se le considera una especie Vulnerable. |
| The flowers of this tree aren´t just beautiful, they smell nice too. In fact, their name comes from the Guarani word for “fragrant”. The flower in such abundance that sometimes one can watch a flower drop every 2 or 3 seconds in a constant rain of spent flowers that covers the ground. Its flowers, leaves and bark have antitumor and antibiotic properties, and it is used in traditional medicine as remedy for amoebic dysentery. It is considered a Vulnerable species. |
